Praying in Paradise Gardens

Today we went to a district in Prague called "Paradise Gardens" to pray for the people of that area. Pavel and Ritch (guys on the right) are working on starting a new church in that area. We had lunch with them and then in two groups we walked around the area asking our Father for His mercy and peace to be displayed in that community. After an afternoon of prayer we took part in their English club where about 20 Czech kids came to practise their English. I learned the words to an Avril Lavigne song and as an ice breaker found out what I had in common with about 20 other people. Everything from liking baseball to visiting other countries to liking spagetti. =) We topped off the evening by visiting a place downtown called 'Red Hot & Blues.' Live music and good food if you are ever in Prague. Oh, pecan pie, too.
I'm still trying to get you caught up on the past couple of months of my life, so here is a slightly random story that might have a point connected to today. We'll see.
When I was working with Robyn in our office to get everything ready for the January conference, there were quite a few days where I felt like I got some stuff done, but I couldn't see how it connected to helping further the Kingdom or build the Church. Lots of effort but no immediate reward. The final day of the conference we had a time for testimonies. Anyone could get up to tell about what God had been doing in their life or how they had seen Him working in the lives of others. As the time went on, I realized that I was receiving my reward. These people were testifying to God's majesty and I had helped create the place for that. They told about how He worked in their lives during the conference, how He refreshed them, how He encouraged them through others, and how they had had important meetings at the conference which would shape their ministry. That made all those emails and hours staring at a computer screen worthwhile.
Today was one of those days for me. I got to go spend time encouraging and praying with some guys working to see a new church started in a predominately atheistic country. I felt like I was doing something worthwhile. =]

I am so thankful that you were able to see how God used you in this conference. I know it is a lot of hard work to put these things together, and I praise God for your willingness to do this.
